It is great to see my national airline being honoured by the World Travel Awards (WTA) last month, with two prestigious awards “World’s Leading Airline – Premium Economy Class” and “World’s Leading Cultural Airline” at the 2018 WTA Grand Final Gala in Lisbon, Portugal. The WTA is regarded as “the Oscars of the tourism industry”, established to honour the world’s best travel and airline brands.

This is the third consecutive year Vietnam Airlines has been awarded by the WTA. The prize had received votes from experts of the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and a large number of clients for almost nine months from 1st February 2018 up to 24th October 24, 2018.

Graham Cooke, Founder and Chairman of WTA, commented: “Vietnam Airlines has shown remarkable progress in improving customer services and upgrading their fleet. I am very happy to see that the company’s efforts have been recognized by the travel industry and customers through the selection of Vietnam Airlines as the ‘World’s Leading Airline – Premium Economy Class’ and ‘World’s Leading Cultural Airline’.”

Vietnam Airlines is the carrier with the most air routes to Da Nang – now a highlight on most Vietnam holidays, turning the airport into the third largest international airport of the country after Noi Bai in Hanoi in northern Vietnam and Tan Son Nhat in the southern economic hub of Ho Chi Minh City.   Vietnam Airlines operate some 9 domestic and 14 international routes to/from Da Nang airport
